materials: steel nails, fishing lines, broken electricity supplier (found), smashed blue mirror (found) size: variable The marks on the wall left by the fallen paint remind one of the sundials in ancient times: they do not allocate time with even graduations; instead, they demonstrate the shadows of time on a plane.
This map of time expands territory with time itself passing and under the forces from the outside. While I tried to record this territory of time with a bundle of nails, I had to apply force on it, thus sometimes I changed the territories of this map unintentionally. The sharpest, most apparent or crucial turning points among these marks on the wall (time points) record a series of private “events” (happenings of forces) in this room. These time points scattered on the plane / wall now return to the three-dimensional space (which has become public space) and gather together, and thereby make themselves unavoidable. They converge, under the pulling force of transparent threads, on a used object which resembles a converter / translation device, and then flow away in the form of blue, reflective fragments (pieces of broken blue mirror), just like the doom of this building. 墙皮剥落留下的印记,使人想到古时的日晷:它不以均匀的刻度分配时间,而只是显示出时间在平面上的投影。
这份时间的地图,随着时间自身的增长、因受外力而扩张版图。在我试图用钉子记录下这版图时,也成为了施力者,并偶尔无意间再度改变了它的疆界。 墙皮剥落处转折最为尖锐、明显或是重要的位置(时间点),记录着许多这里过去的私人“事件”(力的发生)。分布于平面的时间点回到(已是公共的)空间中并汇聚起来,令人无法回避。它们落在转换机般的旧物上(从电到铃声),再以蓝色反光碎片的形式流走,如同建筑本身的命运。 |
